Market Escape
Liu Cheng Yu
River Valley Primary (P2)
One evening
I went marketing to buy High Chew
I found it
I bolted pass the avenue.
A car zoomed past
Vroom vroom vrooooooom vroom vroom
Honk honk hoooooooonk honk honk
I jumped pass the car
almost got hit.
For one second three seconds
or maybe one hundred seconds
we stared at each other
the driver and I.
I shivered
I laughed
I survived
I didn’t die.
When you go marketing
you don’t need bravery
you don’t need speed
or anything but
you need to be careful.
Swim like Butterfly
Ariel Queenta Bao
River Valley Primary (P2)
It was late in the afternoon
with the sun shining bright
Dad taught me how to swim
in the pool like golden light
I wore a pretty swimsuit
like a butterfly flying across the pool.
As I was near the water
I felt a bit shy like mice
Dad said, “ Jump in and give it a try!”
I touched the pool’s bottom
with a big surprised sigh.
He showed me how to kick
like a frog, so small
he held me tight like squeezing a lemon
so I wouldn’t fall.
The wind was icy and blowing through me
but I learned with delight
soon I could swim half of the pool
what a sight!
Camping Escape
Liu Shu Yuan
River Valley Primary (P2)
One sunny evening
brother and I went camping
we were sitting under the starry starry night.
Suddenly
an idea came up in my thinking
I walked out from the tent
towards the dark silent woods.
“Waaaaaaait – aaait – wait – waitttttt!”
brother shouted crazily
Ignoring him
I scampered towards my adventure.
I didn’t ask
what kind of things hiding behind the dark trees
I didn’t ask
what kind of things flying above the black sky
when you go camping you have to be brave.
Suddenly
a huge black shadow appeared in front of me
for one minute, three minutes
or even a hundred minutes
we stared at each other.
“Time to go home” brother interrupted
when I turned back the shadow disappeared
I knew I could talk or even scream out loud
but I was a shadow as we walked back.
When you go camping
you don’t need words or warm
or anything
but
bravery.
Ocean Escape
He Ya Qi
River Valley Primary (P2)
One early morning
on spring day
Dad and I went to the beach.
“Don’t go too far” Dad said
you don’t ask what hide beneath
deep down in the ocean.
Suddenly,
a dark shadow followed behind me
I turned left, it turned left
I turned right, it turned right
I swam fast, it swam fast
I stopped, it stopped!
For one second
three seconds
or even one hundred seconds
we stared at one another.
“Help heeeeeeeelp Daaaaaaad help”
I screamed.
Dad pulled me to the shore
“Let’s go home” said Dad.
When I walked home
I knew I could talk or could even scream out loud
but I was a shadow.
When you go swimming in the ocean
you need to be brave.
